Pre-series[]

Early life[]

Belle was born to Colette and Sir Maurice. She grew up with a love for books, inheriting her mother's interest in said novels. Her favorite book to read was Her Handsome Hero ("Her Handsome Hero]]. However, her mother dies tragically before the events and Belle goes on a quest alone to find her lost memories. She meets Anna in Arendelle and they befriend each other. Unfortunately, Anna falls off a cliff and is kidnapped by her aunt, Ingrid the Snow Queen. Belle returns home to find her father not angry with her and tells Belle the truth of her mother's death. Because of the Ogre Wars, Belle says they can enlist Rumplestiltskin to end the Third Ogre Wars. ("Family Business")

Servitude to Rumplestiltskin[]

In a reassurance for the safety of her friends and family, Belle enters the service of the dark One named Rumpelstiltskin. They both fall in love slowly. Robin Hood later comes in and tries to steal from the Dark One, which was the same man that the Dark One enlisted before. Not wanting more torture, Belle helped the robber, Robin Hood escape, but Rumple wants revenge. He later refuses to kill Robin and leaves him and Marian's unborn child fatherless. He has a library built for Belle but states it's only for cleaning, but Belle knows otherwise. She later encounters Queen Regina on the road, who advises her that true love s kiss will break Rumple's curse, but he later releases Belle, wanting nothing more to do with her. Belle also during her exile from Rumpelstiltskin meets a dwarf named Dreamy and helps him achieve his dreams to be with his true love, Nova. She also met the ancient warrior, Mulan a woman who disguised herself as a man, and Belle later frees Philip from his curse.

Relationships[]

Rumplestiltskin[]

Initially, the two were in love. Their relationship strengthened in season two and later in season three when he broke away from her. However, after he is the "Dark One" again, Belle does not accept him as the monster he already is and separates from him. Eventually, they work on their relationship, get married and have a son named Gideon. They live a long happy life together until Belle dies from old age and Rumple works long and hard to be reunited with her. Eventually, he believes that he'll never be with Belle again but in a selfless act, he saves Wish Hook by giving him his own heart. He is later reunited with Belle in the afterlife.

Killian Jones[]

In season two, Hook wants to do nothing more than use Belle and ask her about the Dark One's dagger. However, after Hook allies with the heroes and decides to side after falling in love with Emma, the two of them seem to not want to kill each other anymore. In season five, when Emma is the Dark One, Belle encourages him to give in to love to save Emma, but she ultimately fails. She will often ask him for help, such as helping her with finding housing when she leaves her husband. After everything they have been through, they become good friends. When Belle plans her son's first birthday, she invites him and Emma to the party.

Emma Swan[]

In season two, Belle hardly has any contact with Emma. However, by season four, the two interact with each other more than they did before. They are practically family since Henry is her step-grandson after her marriage to Rumpelstiltskin and appear as good friends since Belle goes with Emma's family to save her from the Dark One's curse. Eventually, after years of friendship, when Belle plans her son's first birthday, she invites her and Killian to the party.

Whenever there is nothing, they can understand, Emma usually has Belle look up information on the creature.
